Privacy

The short version

Reading this site collects nothing. There are no analytics, no cookies, no advertising, no third-party scripts and no external requests of any kind — the site's Content-Security-Policy permits no outside host, so a page cannot silently load one. The only personal data held is an email address, and only if you type one into the alerts box.

If you subscribe to alerts

What is stored: your email address, the list of models you chose to watch, the dates you subscribed and last changed the list, whether you have confirmed the address, and a random token that powers the unsubscribe link. Nothing else — no name, no employer, no IP address, no behavioural record.

Why: to send you a message when the register records a change to a model on your list. Nothing else is sent, and the address is never used for anything you did not ask for.

Legal basis: consent, given by entering the address. You may withdraw it at any time, and doing so is one click.

How long: until you unsubscribe. There is no retention period beyond that because there is no reason to keep it.

Where: Cloudflare Workers KV. Cloudflare acts as our processor and may store data outside the EEA under its standard contractual clauses.

Sharing: none. The list is never sold, rented, shared or used to build an audience segment. It is not an asset we intend to monetise by transfer.

Your watchlist stays on your device

Starring a model saves it in your browser's local storage. It is not sent anywhere and we cannot read it. That matters more here than on most sites: which AI vendors an organisation monitors is itself commercially sensitive, and the register is deliberately built so it never learns that. Only if you subscribe to alerts does the list leave your device, because at that point it has to.

Your light/dark preference is stored the same way, for the same reason.

Stopping mail, and deletion

Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Using it deletes your address and watchlist outright — we do not keep a suppression list, because that would mean holding your data in order to prove you asked us not to.

You can also email hello@trainedon.org to ask what is held about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. There is no form and no account to log into; a plain email is enough.

Server logs

Cloudflare, which serves the site, keeps its own short-lived request logs including IP addresses, as any host does. We do not read, export or retain them, and they are not joined to anything else.

The people on the register

Separately from visitors: this register records the published disclosures of organisations, not individuals. Where a page names a person — an incident-reporting contact, say — it is because that organisation published it as a point of contact. If you believe personal data of yours appears here in error, write to us and it will be removed while we check.
