Trained On AI training-data disclosure

Terms of use

Trained On is a free, public-interest register. These terms say what you can expect from it, what you may do with it, and how to challenge something it says about you.

What this register is, and is not

It records whether the provider of a general-purpose AI model has published certain documents — principally the training-data summary described in Article 53(1)(d) of the EU AI Act — at sources we monitor, with the page and date each reading came from.

It is not a finding of compliance or non-compliance. Whether any obligation applies to a given model, on what date, and whether it has been met, are legal questions decided by regulators and courts. We do not answer them and nothing here should be read as if we had.

A blank or negative cell means we did not find a document at the sources we watch. That may be a limit of our monitoring rather than a fact about a provider, and model pages say which of those applies where we can tell.

No warranty, and what to do instead of relying on us

The register is provided as-is, with no warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for any purpose. Extraction is partly automated and automation misreads documents; we have published errors before and will again.

For anything that carries legal or commercial weight — a procurement decision, a filing, a published article — follow the source link on the row and read the document yourself. Every claim carries one for exactly this reason. If you need the page as it stood on the date we read it, ask: we keep dated copies.

Using and quoting the register

You may read, quote, link to, and cite this register freely, including commercially, provided you do not misrepresent what it says. In practice that means two things:

  • Carry the date. Every claim is a reading taken on a particular day. A dated finding repeated without its date becomes a permanent unqualified assertion about a named company, which is not what we published.
  • Do not convert "not published" into "non-compliant." Many models on the register are within a transitional period and are not yet required to publish anything.

The underlying data files are available for reuse. Attribution to trainedon.org with the date is appreciated and makes your claim checkable, which is the point.

If you are named here and think we are wrong

Write to hello@trainedon.org. You do not need a lawyer, a takedown notice, or a particular form of words. Corrections from the companies in the register are welcome and several rows exist in their current form because a provider told us we had it wrong.

What happens next:

  • A claim that is disputed on its face — you say the document exists and we did not find it — is withdrawn from publication while we check, not after. Withdrawal is cheap; being wrong in public is not.
  • If you send us the document, the row is corrected and the source recorded. If it sits behind a login or a block, tell us and we will note that rather than record an absence.
  • Corrections we make are not presented as though a provider changed something. Our error is recorded as our error.

Alerts

The alert list is free and optional. You confirm your address before anything is sent, every message carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing deletes your address outright rather than moving it to a suppression list. There is no account, no password and no payment. See stopping alerts and the privacy notice.

We do not guarantee delivery, timing, or that every change will be caught. An alert is a convenience, not a monitoring service you should depend on for a compliance deadline.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, exhaust its resources, or subscribe addresses that are not yours. The subscription endpoint is rate-limited and requires confirmation for this reason.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the date above changes and the change is recorded in the site's git history. There is no version of this page that quietly differs from what you read.
